CHANDIGARH: A Hindu laborer Nand Lal was found hanged on February 11 at village Singh Pura in District Patiala about 50, miles southwest of here.

No one has claimed the responsibility for killing Nand Lal who is the 14th person to be hanged in Punjab since January 6 when Bhai Satwant Singh and Bhai Kehar Singh were hanged in Delhi by Indian authorities in connection with their alleged role in the assassination of prime minister Indira Gandhi.

In another incident an assistant sub inspector of police, Mann Singh was shot dead by some gunmen in Guru Har Sahai. He had come home for a holiday.

Gurdey SIngh the sarpanch of village Jarkhar in Ludhiana district was shot dead by some unidentified people. They came on a cycle and escaped on it.
