NEW DELHI: Three off-duty constables of the elite National Security Guard (NSG) tied to molest a resident of the Rajiv Gandhi Camp jhuggis, but one of them was single-handedly overpowered by the husband of the victim,

The constable who was nabbed Vijay Singh was remanded to judicial custody until July 8, by Metropolitan Magistracy Sukhdev Singh. The other two, Babu Lal Meena and Jat Singh escaped and were still absconding. According to the police, the three NSG constables were posted at Paryavaran Bhavan,

Describing the incident to ENS, Akhtar Ali, husband of the 19year-old woman, said that they were going out for dinner around 10:30. They were heading towards Eros cinema, when the three men waylaid them. They started leering and manhandling his wife. One of them pulled her hair while the other two pawed her.

Akhtar Ali said, “they said they were policemen and they could do what they liked, They also threatened us and said they would take away my wife in the jeep that was wailing nearby.”

For a while the couple kept quiet, even as the husband was being slapped and kicked and the wife, molested. The couple, however, kept trying to break free and in the process they moved forward to the spot where the jeep was supposed to be. They saw no jeep. In the meantime, the lady broke free and started running, while Ali yelled to her to get help. The constables suddenly became panicky, as they neared the police post and the jhuggi clusters. Two of them escaped while the third was pinned down by Ali.
