Journalist: Mr. Ambassador, opposing the naming of a school after Mahatma Gandhi, David Horrox, the evangelical Baptist, called Gandhi “a crank in his personal life” who had a “shameful” attitude towards women and his family, and a “shallow” philosophy. Ambassador; That’s right.

Journalist: Horrox has received a number of death threats since making his comments but Horrox insisted that he was speaking the truth. “To silence a dissenting viewpoint is to assume infallibility”, he said.

Ambassador: Very correct.

Journalist; Don’t you think death threats to Horrox reflect the same intolerant psyche as was demonstrated by Hindus during anti-Sikh riots in Delhi? Doesn’t it show the real face of Hindu terrorism? Ambassador; Not in national interest to disclose.

Journalist Mr. Ambassador, Hindu residents of Stockton, California, were infuriated by a banner proclaiming “Sacred Cows Make Great Hampburgers”. The banner was put up before a school by a Catholic priest.

Ambassador: That’s right.

Journalist: Hindus, however, threatened local Sikhs with dire consequences for insulting their holy cow without realizing that Sikhs had nothing to do with the banner.

Ambassador: Very correct.

Journalist: Don’t you think Hindu rule in India has turned the head of every Hindu no matter where he lives? How come Hindus assume terrorist posture at the slightest provocation but accuse others of terrorism?

Journalist: Mr. Ambassador, Rajiv Gandhi’s supporters have finally succeeded in hounding out of his Cabinet Mr. V.P. Singh, the only minister with a reputation for fighting the monster of corruption. Ambassador: That’s right.

Journalist: The Opposition leaders have accused Gandhi of surrendering to big business lobby in his party in forcing Mr. Singh to resign. Ambassador. Very correct.

Journalist: Could it be Gandhi made Singh quit to cover his own shady deals? or was he feeling threatened by Singh’s growing popularity and clean image?
