LUDHIANA, India: ‘Gunmen shot dead a Nirankari leader, Tikka Jagjit Singh at Mullanpur near here, He was gunned down by two scooter riders. Mr. Tikka was also riding a scooter. He died on the spot. In May, 1985, also he was attacked and seriously wounded by unknown assailants. Police claim to have found out the identity of the gunmen, But no arrest have been made so far.
Meanwhile an Akali leader of the Gurdaspur District was seriously wounded in a gun attack at his residence. According to sources, he was suspected to be responsible for the arrest of certain Sikhs who had reportedly returned from Pakistan.
