He told a news conference here that a U.S. decision to arm Contra Rebels fighting to overthrow his Socialist Government showed Washington was on an interventionist path in Nicaragua

Nicaraguans are forced to arm themselves and struggle in international forums until the United States respects the ruling of the international court of justice he added.

The court ruled last June that the US. broke international law through its support for the rebels and should pay Nicaragua reparations for damage caused.

Ortega who arrived in Accra from neighboring Burkina Faso is due in Zimbabwe next week to attend in the triennial summit meeting of the nonaligned movement. Nicaragua is among the countries seeking to host the next summit in 1989.
