AMSTERDAM, REUTER — The Netherlands, without European footballer of the year Ruud Gullit, beat Romania 2-0 on Wednesday in their final warm-up match for the European championship beginning next week.
C. Milan star Gullit was omitted to rest a mild back injury; but the Dutch, who also started without Marco Van Basten, were always in command.
John Bosman shot the hosts ahead after just three minutes but the Romanians squandered a, chance to equalize when Gheorghe! Hagi hammered a 29th minute penalty against the post.
