CHANDIGARH: Youth Congress chief Maninderjit Singh Buta has charged Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singhs political secretary with working the youth organization in the state.
In an interview here on May 2 at his room in the private ward of Post Graduate institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI) where he was operated upon last week Bits alleged that Gurmeet Singh Chief Ministers political sectary is using police and distract administration to terrorize the youth Congress leaders and activists in the state. False cases are being registered against the Youth Congress members at various places he added.
When asked whether the matter was taken up with Beant Singh he replied are being Chief Minister’s knowledge Bitta praised Beant Singh for bringing peace In the trouble-torn state and added that the Youth Congress cannot go against his wishes look we had to cancel the Bhatinda rally which was being organized to mark 1000 days of the Narasimha Rao govern ment. If Chief Minister asks me to stay away from the state politics I would willingly do so he added.
I did not leave Punjab even in the thick of militancy but today despite our party’s government i feel hesitant to Visit the state.
While no other opposition party including the BJP has stopped low to criticize me my own party colleagues have even gone to the extent of accusing me of enacting drama Bitta said Unfortunately my adversaries are mistaken if they feel that i would be cowed down by their propaganda I am not a (coward) to commit suicide instead i would prefer death he said.
