NEW DELHI, India, Aug. 3, Reuter: More than 110 people were feared killed when an overcrowded bus plunged into a canal in north India yesterday, the Press Trust of India said.

Most victims were believed to have drowned when the bus loaded with more than 130 passengers, crashed off a bridge near Mainpur in Uttar Pradesh, 250 km (150 miles) southeast of New Delhi.

Rescuers have recovered 52 bodies so far, the news agency said.
