BATHINDA: Four militant organizations operating under the command of a panthic committee have in a resolution condemned the murder of Amandeep Kaur 20 who was recently married to a Canadian Sikh.
Activists of the four organizations met secretly somewhere in Bathinda district under the chairmanship of Bhai Paramjit Singh Panjwad. The girl was the sister of Bhai Harpinder Singh Goldy of Mehraj village in this district. Those who participated in the meeting were Bhai Jagrup Singh Bhai Raivir Singh Jassi. Bhai Darshan Singh Kotli Bhai Gurdeep Singh Heran Bhai Kulwinder Singh Bhai Bohar Singh and Bhai Balwinder Singh Bathinda.
The meeting squarely blamed the Bathinda police chief H.S.Kahlon for the murder and said that the rime against the unarmed woman would be avenged.
In her statement made to Punjab Human Rights Organization at Ludhiana a few days prior to her murder Amandeep Kaur had said that “Kahlon is after me for no reason”. She had gone underground after she was dishonored and tortured in several police stations of Bashinda district it is alleged that she was disrobed in the presence of her father and husband in Phul police station on Kahons order.
But the district police had a trick up its sleeve. I restored the jewelry and other articles looted from her household o give an impression of a situation of “thus far and no father”. The girl was consequently taken in by the police maneuver. She returned home. Her father too was bailed out. A few armed men with muffled faces one evening scaled the walls of Amandeeps house and shot her dead while her mother and father had gape out to neighbors.
