Bhai Tara Singh was a Jat Sikh Saint soldier of village Van (Amritsar). He was highly religious kind generous strong brave and fearless fighter. He was very popular among Sikhs and remained on the fore front of any Panthic undertaking. He ran free kitchen for all. He taught a lesson to Lambardar Sahib Rai of Naushehra who used to let loose horses into the fields of poor Sikhs peasants. Bhai Tara Singh captured the horses of Lambardar and sold them to a far off place and the sale proceeds were given to the victims of the devil. Sahib Rai lodged a false complaint with the Faujdar who was cruel and fanatic Muslim. The Faujdar sent a contingent to attack Bhai Tara Singh by surprise but they were engaged by Baghel Singh Dhillon who died fighting against great odds. When Bhai Tara Singh came to his rescue invaders fled away The Faujdar reported the matter to Zakria Khan Governor Lahore who dispatched well over 2000 troops against Tara Singh. Ghumanda an Uppal Jat sent a secret message to Tara Singh about the planted attack from Lahore. Bhai Tara Singh with his 22 companions kept the troops at bay at night time but next day died fighting gloriously. His Shaheed Ganj is near Khadamgarhi.
