AMRITSAR: The All-India Sikh Students Federation Manjit faction received a jolt when its Ferozepore unit as whole and senior leaders of Kapurthala and Ropar district units staged are volt over the question of selection of candidates for the Lok Sabha and assembly elections.

The president of the Ferozepore unit Mr Amarjeet Singh Padri told pressmen in the presence of other dissidents that the dissidents have decided to support “panthic” candidates irrespective of their party affiliations and a list of such candidates would be released in next few days.

The discussions asked those who have not been given tickets by the federation not to withdraw from contest and stated that all those who had sacrificed in the Sikh struggle would be selected.

Mr Padri alleged that the federation president Mr Manjit Singh selected his close relatives and close associates and its parliamentary board chairman Mr Sarabjeet Singh Sohal charged huge money for selection of candidates.
