FATHEHGARH SAHIB: Simranjit Singh Mann leader of the Akali Dal demanded Assembly and SGPC elections. Speaking on the second day of the Jor Mela here commemorating the bricking alive of the two younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh, Mann said the elections could be held under the auspices of the UN peacekeeping forces in case the other parties apprehended violence.

Mann was evasive on the political goal of his party and referred only to Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale’s demands.

Former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal who also addressed the gathering stuck to the demand of Anandpur Sahib Resolution.

Mann said the center had to solve the problem taking into confidence the AISSF and Damdami Taksal also. The solution would have to be based on principles. He also laid the condition of the release of Harjinder Singh Jinda and Sukhdey Singh.
