PATIALA: The Akali Dal (M) President, Simranjit Singh Mann, who was arrested at Chandigarh Nov 24 and handed over to Patiala police, was remanded to the judicial custody till December 17 by the judicial magistrate here.
Simranjit Singh Mann, an ex-member of the lower house has been waging a fierce battle against the federal government for separate state.
While coming out of the court, Mann told newsmen the action taken by the Punjab police against the Akali leaders was “ruthless” and was aimed at curtailing the constitutional rights of Sikhs to assemble peacefully.
