JAMMU: Militants kidnapped manager of the Jammu and Kashmir band Abdul Majid in Kupwara district while an area commander of a militant outfit ‘other persons were killed in the violence hit Kashmir valley in Northern India since Saturday night

“Majid, manager of Sogan Branch for J and K bank, was abducted Saturday evening while he was on his way to Kupwara, official reports said here.

An area commander of “Al Umar’, Mohammad Ganai, was killed in an exchange of fire with security forces In sorpore division ‘of West Kashmir, the reports said.

‘An unidentified body was found in Malanh Pura Area in Pulwama district Sunday morning,

Twenty one subversives were apprehended in different parts of Kashmir since yesterday while a pak trained militant surrender to security.

Large quantities of arms and ammunition were seized during eight search operations in the valley during the period, We Reports said.

 Dev, a close relative of federal minister G.N. Azad was let off by his captors, Islamia inquilabi front (IIF) in Srinagar, summer capital ‘of Jammu and Kashmir State, Monday after three days of captivity. Dev was kidnapped at a shrine where he had gone to offer Friday prayers.

Meanwhile, militants kidnapped Prof R.S. Sharma, head of the chemistry department of the University of Kashmir, Monday, official sources said.

‘Al Umar Mujahideen, a pro Pakistan militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the abduction.
