SRINAGAR: The president of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Mohammad Yasin Malik, was rearrested from Hazratbal shrine July 31 after deterioration in his condition. He was later flown to New Delhi in a TAF plane.

There was panic Sunday morning after reports that Malik had died, The Army was put on the alert bot the report turned out to be false. However, the authorities discarded their wait-and-watch policy and forcibly removed him to Soura medical institute. His rearrests appears to be an afterthought as the decision was conveyed by the chief secretary to the doctors on the telephone.
