TARAN TARAN: Lt. Gen Mohinder Singh Manochal, of the Bhindranwale Tigers Force was killed by the Punjab police in what authorities said was an encounter. Lt. Gen. Mohinder Singh was the cousin of Baba Gurbachan Singh Manochal of the Panthic Committee which had declared the formation of Khalistan from the Golden Temple.

Director General of Police KPS Gill said a large quality of arms was recovered from Mohinder Singh Manochal. He had a price of Rs 30,000 on his head.

In another incident four gunmen killed two people in village Warain Khurd in Ferozpur District.

A Communist party of India (CPI) leader Gajjan Singh was gunned down in Kalake village under the jurisdiction of Bikhivind police station of Amritsar district.

In another report Suraj Prakush Malhotra a Congress (I) leader and a former President of the Ropar Municipal Committee was gunned down in his house on March 10.
