Dear Editor Leaders of AISSF and some other Sikh leaders met the victims of the police atrocities; the police have been harassing the members of AISSF and their families. Many of them are young men studying in schools and colleges; the police have picked up many innocent students from their respective schools and colleges and have been torturing them. Some of these Sikh youths have fled from their homes to distant countries, in fear of the police. The police have been harassing their families so that the family members would bring these young men (o the police station. One of the victims Harpreet Singh Aulakh has fled India to save his life. The police have been harassing his family to bring these young men to the police station.
Harpreet had to tolerate severe brutality in the past. He was tortured on several occasions. Because Harpreet disappeared and the police could not find him, they tortured his father. His father could not tolerate this shock and he died while in police custody. Even after doing such a grievous thing to Harpreet’s family the police did not stop its cruelty, they destroyed all the valuable properties belonging to his family and their home was ransacked.
Another victim of police atrocities is, Harjit Singh, whose brother was killed by the police. They have been harassing his family, demanding Harjit to appear in the police station. The Principal of the Khalsa College, Amritsar said that these young men, Harpreet Singh, Harjit Singh and many other students of these colleges were members of AISSF were innocent and are punished only for their good deeds of raising their voices against atrocities. He said that the police want to kill these young men. Some of these men appeared in the police station, on the demand of the police to avoid their families being harassed by the police. But later their whereabouts could not be known. The AISSF condemns the harassment and killing of innocent Sikhs by the police. It is obvious that the Indian Government wants to abolish the Sikh community by killing the young generation of the Sikhs.
