Dear Mr. Prime Minister, Asa proud Canadian and also a member of the Sikh community of Canada, I would like to express my profound and heartfelt thanks for honoring your commitment to open a Consulate in Chandigarh Punjab. The step of your government and cabinet colleagues, such as the Hon Lloyd Ax worthy, the Hon Douglas Young and the Harbans S. Dhaliwal in this direction is, certainly long overdue and well deserving of much needed appreciation. From the trade standpoint, I would suggest that the Hon Minister of Transport should try his best to secure landing rights for the Canadian carriers, Canadian Airlines International and/or Ai Canada, in Amritsar or Chandigarh, Punjab as almost 90% of the traffic between Canada and Delhi is from Punjab.

Thank you, once again, for your relentless efforts. With best wishes and kind regards. Sincerely,

Awatar Singh Sekhon, Ph.D.
