NEW DELHI: The Left Panes in India will launch a movement from February 15 all over the country to urge the government to check rise in prices of essential commodities strengthen and expand the Public Distribution System (PDS) and implement alternative economic policies.
The movement will also ask for scrapping the price increase in wheat sugar and other commodities and launch a campaign to unearth hoarded commodities the Communist party of India (Marx4st) chief Harkishan Singh Surjeet told reporters here on Tuesday.
He said the first phase of the “struggle” would be launched with demonstrations and picketing up 40 the district level and end with state level agitations on March 2.
