MALTON: S, Didar Singh Bains Chief guest on the auspicious occasion of the Inauguration of the Khalsa Community School Malton Ontario Canada was field on Sept. 4, 1995.

Donation of $100000. (One Hundred Thousand Dollars) for educational purposes was announced by Mr. Bains, at the auspicious occasion.

It is indeed ahistorical event for the Sikh of Ontario Canada that with the tireless efforts of the Sikh Community for the last 14 years and by the Blessings of the Satguru the dream at Opening a Khalsa School has been realized when the Ontario Board of Education very kindly accorded their approval for opening the Khalsa ‘School Malton, Ontario, at 7280 Airport Road, Malton, Ontario, Canada.

The inaugural function of the opening of the said School was held on Sept. 4, 1995, in the Diwan Hall of Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Malton in the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib when thousands of the Sikh devotees were present. The chief guest’s. Didar Singh Bains in the inaugural brief address spoke for about 15 minutes. He emphasized the vital importance and relevance of establishing the Khalsa School for the Children of the Community. He appreciated this first historical effort of the Sikh Community and congratulated the whole Sadh Sangat and the people at large who to se to the occasion to establish the School by nising above the politics and other internal differences, He liberal contributions for this school and forecasted that the day will not be far away when this School will be a full-fledged Higher Secondary School and in the process emerging as Khalsa Community College of Malton Ontario Canada. In his speech the Hony. Director of the School Prof, Gurbax Singh Shergill also explained the efforts involved in setting up this School and called for the cooperation of the members of the whole community of the Sikhs to work together to meet the educational needs of the children of the Community for the bright future of the community, Honorable John Snobelon, Minister of Education Ontario, Hon. Colleen Beaumier, M.P., Hon, Gurbax Singh Malhi M.P. and other honorable dignitaries addressed and congratulated the Sikh Community at the historic ‘opening of the Khalsa School Malion.

In the evening S. Didar Singh Baio Was invited in a joint meeting of Sikh Human Rights Ontario where 5. Giirdev Singh Gill and the members of the Sikh media including the members of the W.S.O. were present. Mr. Bains was presented with a plaque in recognition of his services to the Sikh Nation.
