BANGALORE (PTI): Opposition leader in south India’s Karnataka State assembly, R.V.Deshpande, April 10 urged chief minister Veerappa Moily to immediately seek the army’s help to nab the Poacher and Sandalwood smuggler Veerappan, whose gang killed 22 people in an ambush Friday. In a statement, Deshpande said he was shocked over the killings during a combing operation by a joint special task force ofthe Tamil Nadu and Karnataka police near Palar. The opposition leader said the ambush, where Veerappan’s gang used landmines showed the “total failure” of police intelligence. He also lashed out at the Mostly government had “No will and com: mitment” to nab Veerappan.
