STOCKTON CA: An exhibition Kabbadi match drew many valley Sikhs to the Claremont High School grounds on April 27.

The match between India and England was the third in a series of four was organised by the local Caledonia Sports Youth Club.

Sher-e- Punjab Sports Club had invited the teams over.

India won the closely contested match 39-37 The earlier two matches in Yuba City and Caruthers were dominated by the visiting team from England.

The president of the Youth Sports Club Dr H.S.Shergill presided over the function and distributed the prizes

Try of war of senior citizens and children’s musical chairs were very interesting and popular.

Dr Shergill was introduced to the players of both teams and their managers and coaches The English team was managed by Swaran S Khera and coached by Avtar S Khera. The Indian team was managed by R.S.Shergill. The Indian team had a boy of just 12 Gurdip S.Shergill from Los Banos.

Balwandir S Phidoo ond Bholi played well for the Indian side while Bhindi and Swarna were outstanding on the English side Refreshments were provided by the CSYC.

Avtar S Tari a player from England was all praise for the arrangements and hospitality extended to them.

Swaran Singh Khera thanked the Sher-c-Punjab Sports. Club and hoped that many such matches would be held in the future.
