CHANDIGARH: There is yet another turn in the Gill-Bajaj case with Mr. S.D. Bajaj judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court dismissing a contempt petition filed by Mr. K.P. Gill Director General of Police, Punjab. The judge passed strictures on Mr. Gill who has been accused of molesting Mrs. Bajaj at an official party.

Mr. Gill had filed a contempt petition in the High Court alleging that Mrs. Bajaj in her reply to the petition filed earlier by Mr. Gill for quashing of the FIR has revealed the contents of the documents which had been held to be privileged by the High Court thereby committing contempt of court. Mr. Gill had further prayed in the petition that during the pendency of the contempt charge against Mrs. Bajaj the court should pass orders for her detention in a civil prison.

The judge in his order dismissing the petition, on March 21 1981, copies of which were made available here on Saturday observed, “taking undue advantage of the patronage and protection extended to him, by the state Government in the matter of claiming privilege for its official record, the allegedly erring police chief, Mr. Kanwar Pal Singh Gill IPS, is now through his contempt petition trying to deter the complainant husband and wife the alleged victims, to speak from the contents of the official record which was made part of the complaint case by the learned trial court much before the claim of privilege was sustained by this court, dismissed.
