CHANDIGARH: The Punjab and Haryana High Court last week adjourned the hearing of the infamous jebkatri case till April 11 on the request of Mohinder jit Singh Sethi counsel for the National Human Rights Commission Sethi sought times as the affidavit to be filed on behalf of the commission proposing compensation and further course of action is yet to be received from Delhi.

In a communication to Sethi the Commission Chairman Justice Ranganathan Mishra has favored that the investigations in the tattooing case be handed over to the CBI. After the report of the CBI the caps should be prosecuted. On the question of compensation to the victims the commission wants the court to take a decision. The commission has asked its counsel to propose that the plastic surgery to remove the tattooing marks should be done again by a private Surgeon to the satisfaction of the four women. The expenses should be borne by the state.
