NEW DELHI: The Indian Olympic ‘Association (1A) on March 7 clarified that it has already communicated to the organizing committee, India’s willingness to participate in the 11th Asian games to be held in Beijing this September.

Reaching to a Beijing report that India is yet to confirm participation, an IOA spokesman said that the association’s president, B.S Adithyan, has already communicated India’s willingness to participate in the Asian games through a letter, dated February 12, 1990, addressed to Chen Xitong, Chairman of the games organizing committee.

“It appears that the letter in question has not been received by them. Therefore, the IOA has done the same via telex today and a copy of that letter and telex message were also dispatched to Sheik Fahad, president of the Olympic council of Asia,” the spokesman added.
