International Youth Symposiums were held at 3 centers in the Washington Metropolitan area. They were held at Sikh Foundation of Virginia (SFV) on Dec.11990 Guru Nanak Foundation of America (GNFA) on Dec.29-1990 and The Washington Sikh Center (WSC) on Dec.22-1990. The covenors were Mrs. Dilpreet K. Singh of Fairfax Station Virginia (SFV) Ms.Sonia Singh of Columbia Maryland (GNFA) and Mrs. Ranjit K. Bawa of Highland Maryland (WSC).
There were two age groups that competed in the Symposium held in SFV The age groups and participants were: (7-10 years old) Shireen K. Gujral Fatehpal S. Jhaj Isha K. Manku GurdeepS. Matharoo Sahiba K. Rathore Tajdev S. Sandhu Anun Singh Jas Jeet Singh Manisha Singh and Tejinder S. Sujlana. First place winner: Arjun Singh Second place winner: Jas Jeet Singh and Third place winner: Shireen K. Gujral. (11-14 years old) Sheena Kaur Jyoti Kaur Kabir Singh and Amrit Kaur Saini. First place winner: Jyoti Kaur second place winner: Amnt Kaur Saini and Third place winner: Kabir Singh. (15-18 years old) Preet Kaur Rubin Singh Amardeep Singh and Sonia Singh. First place winner: Sonia Singh Second place winner: Preet Kaur and Third place winner: Rubin Singh.
The symposium which was held in WSC all four groups competed. The age groups and participants were: (7-10 years old) Sidharath S. Arora Jasleen Bedi Kiranjit Bedi Jaspreet Matta Shaminder Sethi Anjali Singh Manpreet K. Singh Gurpreet Singh Manpreet Singh Kamna K. Singh Smita K. Sarao Sukhmani K. Saroa and Amrita Sodhi. The First place winner: Sukhmani K. Sarao Second place winner: Smita K. Saroa and third place winner:Kranjit K. Bedi. (11-14 years old) Harpreet Matta Livleen Sethi Ajit S. Sodhi Dipti Talwar Jaspreet Singh and Rasna K. Sarao. First place winner:Rasna K. Sarao Second place winner.Dipti Talwar. (15-18 years old) Ruhi Bedi Harmeet S. Matta and Amarjeet K. Manku. First place winner:;Harmeet S Matta Second place winner: Ruhi Bedi and third place winner:Amarjeet K. Manku. (19-25 years old) Bela Deep Kaur was the only one who had participated so she got First place.
