BEIJING Dec, 12, China: China declared Indian action of upgrading its union territory of Arunachal Pradesh to the level of a ‘State’, is a violation of her (China’s) territorial integrity ‘and sovereignty.
‘A spokesman of the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the feelings of the Chinese people have been deeply hurt and that China will never recognize the so called Arunachal Pradesh established i the disputed eastern sector of the Sino Indian boundary.
‘The spokesman recalled that the boundary between China and India has never been formally delimited. The so called Arunachal Pradesh is basically an Indian occupied area of the Chinese territory lying between the traditional customary line and the McMahon Line that had been “contrived singlehandedly by the colonialists in “1914” when India was under their rule.
The spokesman stressed that the Chinese Government has solemnly stated on many occasions that China will never accept the illegal “McMahon Line” and the occupation of Chinese territory.
Reaffirming that China stands for a comprehensive settlement of the Sino Indian boundary question through friendly consultations in a spirit of mutual understanding and accommodation, the spokesman expressed regret that India deliberately taken the steps during the ongoing Sino Indian talks on the boundary question.
