NEW DELHI(PTI): India expects to get an assistance of one billion dollars from the Asian development Bank (ADB) in 1993, Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian parliament was informed May 7.

Minister of state for finance, Abrar Ahmed said in a written reply that the bank’s country programming mission had visited the country from January 18 to 29.

he bank had last year adopted a new medium term strategic framework, Ahmed stated.

This included promotion of economic growth, poverty reduction, improvement in the status of women, development of human resources and sound management of natural resources and environment.
