New Delhi: Indian defence minister Sharad Pawar denied in parliament that the government had advised Swiss authorities to go slow about the investigations to the Bofors scandal involving former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The Minister said the government had not interfered with the course of investigation. He was intervening in a debate on the note submitted by India’s minister to his Swiss counterpart Solanki who resigned following a big furor in the Indian media as well in parliament.

His resignation was accepted by President of India on the Prime Ministers advice.
