OAKLAND: Sardar Ajaib Singh Sidhu aged 62 died last Thursday at 8:45 a.m at his home.

The funeral was held Saturday at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward. The Bhog of Akhand Path was held at Fremont Gurdwara Sahib.

He leaves his loving wife Jagjeet Kaur daughter Tiranjan Chattha (Wife of Dilbagh Singh Chattha) two sons Pramodh Singh Sidhu Anup Singh Sidhu and five grandchildren.

He will be missed by all.

Sardar Ajaib Singh Sidhu son of Sardamni Bishen Kaur and Sardar Bakhtawar Singh Sidhu was born in Sidhwan Kalan near Jagraon Ludhiana Punjab.

Sardar Ajaib Singhs early years were spent in army cantonments he joined the Arya High School at age 13 and entered the Government College Ludhiana. He graduated with a B.S. in Math and Science in 1949. At age 21 he left for Bombay and joined many Gursikhs in religious causes In Bombay he started teaching the Sikh youth and began speaking and writing on Sikh religious and political issues

S.Ajaib Singh married Jagjeet Kaur Mangatof Kenya Africa on December 20, 1953 in Bombay. They moved to Kenya shortly thereafter where he got established in the teaching profession and were actively involved in the cause of Sikhism. He was instrumental in establishing a branch of the Sikh Student Federation in Kenya promoting Sikh Missionary work He was the principal of a local school. While in Kenya he was blessed with three children.

In June 1969 S.Ajaib Singh and his family moved to California. He continued in the teaching profession for 18 years and received a Masters and an equivalency to a Doctorate in Mathematics. In honor of his dedication and service to education a yearly award for the best student was established in his name. He continued to work as a real estate broker and received the top 10 sales and earnings award for several years. A very religious man he dedicated many hours of his time to the Fremont Gurudwara as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors.

The driving force in the life of S.Ajaib Singh was his strong belief in GOD and his love of family Asked a week ago by his brother about how he felt about his lie S.Ajaib Singh said “I am at peace with Waheguru and myself.”

So belong to God all my riches

All that matters is the

Grace of God

God has ended my “myness”

and “thyness”

Like a drop of water mingling

in the ocean

I am blended with God

For ever, For ever, For ever.
