SUNNY VALE: IGS Members re siding in Northern California had a long cherished desire fulfilled with the holding of the first such get together on June 12,1993.

The two hour long program began at 8 p.m. with the singing of Shabads by Sardamis Vandana Kaur, Harlecn Kaur, Deepa Kaur, Charan Kamal Kaur, Sardars Jasdev Singh and Gurjot Singh. Shabad Kirtan was followed by a 15 minutes meditational chanting of the Gurmantar ”Waheguru.”

In the inaugural address, Bhapa ji, drew the attention of the congregation to the 38 years of long and dedicated track record of the IGS in the service of the Khalsa Panth, He urged the members to actively work together for the betterment of the Khalsa Panth and for the sake of their own Children, who needed to be kept in touch with their religious, social, and cultural roots. He expressed plea sure in inaugurating the Northern California chapter and congratulated Gurjot and Jasjit for taking the first step towards it and thanked the 65 member audience for participating.

Hukam Vaak was taken by Sardar Ramanjit Singh, Sardarni Jasjit Kaur translated the Hukam into English,

The program concluded with Sri Guru Granth Sahibji’s SukhAsan and reading of the Sohila.
