Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Just a note of support from a Muslim brother and a Kashmiri friend about the incident on March 25 when a senior Indian diplomat showed disrespect for the Gurdwara Sahib and the Sikh Sangat by entering the House of God! With his shoes on accompanied by a policeman. He should have known better.
We all are amazed at this diplomat’s ignorance or is it arrogance? It seems like it is the later as this particular diplomat hails from the Punjab and as such is knowledgeable about Sikh religious customs. We have a feeling that he was motivated by the same kind of arrogance as was shown by Indian Prime Minister Morarji Desai, many years ago, when he deliberately insulted the Sikh community by demanding the Somnath gates and refusing the accept Kara Prashad while visiting the Durbar Sahib at Amritsar, Lack of reaction to the insult from the Sikhs gave the wrong impression to the fascist Brahmin Ruling Elite. Punjab history would have been different, in our opinion, had some Sikhs met Mr. Desai outside the Harmandir Sahib that day and bathed him in beef stew and confiscated his Dhoti. While Mr. Morarji Desai was lucky to get away we understand our sisters on March 25 deflated the erring Indian diplomat’s ego which incidentally had been inflated by the planted stories in the local newspapers about the so called “Great Welcome” he received on his arrival in London. They even splashed in newspapers all over the world names of a number of Sikh organizations in the UK who are alleged to have taken part in the welcome ceremony.
We are sure this diplomat, like the Indian Ruling Brahmin Elite, is living in a world of illusion and has not realized that he was facing, in the South all Gurdwara Sahib, the cool determination of an emotionally wounded people who have already, in their hearts, seceded from the Indian union and who want nothing less than total independence Khalistan. He better realize that Sikhs are no longer awed by a representative of an evil and bigoted ruling Brahmin class which practices the worst kind of apartheid.
Please accept our assurances that your Kashmiri brothers and sisters will stand by you, through thick and thin, and both our people together, sooner rather than later, are going to gain our freedom from the yoke of the Hindu Brahmin minority.
