CHANDIGARH: “There may have been no case at all if I was an ordinary, average citizen,” says former Punjab DGPK, KP.S. Gill, convicted and sentenced last week for outraging the modesty of Punjab IAS officer Rupan Deol Bajaj. Sitting relaxed in the city’s police mess, which continues to be his residence even after retirement from service, Gill declined to comment on the verdict as he plans to move the appellate court against the judgment by the middle of this month. “I am sure I would get redressal from the appellate court,” he says.

Asked how he felt about the casein retrospective and whether it would have an impact on his life, the super cop said that the case was “not a core issue as far as my existence is concerned.
