SRINAGAR: One person was killed in a bomb blast in Jammu and 17 others, were killed in the Kashmir valley even as talks resumed between the Jammu and Kashmir government and AlFaran to resolve the 64 daylong hostage crisis amicably, report agencies.
An official spokesman told media persons that the authorities were in contact with the abductors of Paul Well, Keith Monigam (Britain), Donald Hutchings Fred (US) and Dirk Hassert (Germany) through intermediaries to secure their early and safe release, He said a state government representative had another round of negotiations with the AlFaran Sept.4th, However, he did not divulge details of what transpired between the two Parties. In reply to a question, the spokesman said the negotiations were being conducted in “Urdu,” He said the government, through its representative, had again appealed to the abductors to release the hostages unharmed soon, He said the talks with the AlFaran were held through intermediaries only and there was no face-to-face talks.
