NEW DELHI: India will consider the question of granting asylum to two Burmese youth who hijacked a Thai airways plane to Calcutta on November 10 only after their trial under the anti-hijacking act.

An external affairs ministry spokesman said at a press bi there was no question of handing them over to the Burmese authorities as no extradition treaty existed between the two countries.

Burma has not so far asked for handing over of the two hijackers, the spokesman said.
