ONTARIO: PanthieActivities and Future Planning of the Gursikh Sangat Hamilton Gurdwara and its Gurmat Camp held on August 16 to August 22, 1993
The management committee with its
President, Sardar Bikkar Singh Sodhi is devoting its exclusively major time for the Sikh community affairs.
The following are outlines given: Gurmat Camp for the children within the age group of 9 to 16 years old. The Camp was held under the kind coordination of Dr. Darshan Singh and with the assistance of Bhai Joga Singh, secretary of the Gurdwara, and by the management of the executive committee, including all men and women volunteers of the Gurdwara, who devoted themselves willingly for the week of August 16August 22, 1993.
In total 34 students, consisting of boys and girls, attended the Day Camp at the premises of the Gurdwara and its beautiful playgrounds. All religious services including history, culture, gurdwara protocol, daily Sikh routine Nitnam, the importance of amarit and our rich heritage, Sikh discipline, etc, were duly explained: and lectures were delivered to the Camp students by Dr. Darshan Singh and many others. The President of the Gurdwara and the Secretary of the Gurdwara also addressed the students from time to time,
All day meals and refreshments were provided with full services: of Gurdwara management, free of Charge, throughout the whole week of the Gourmet Camp.
The President and the Executive Committee of the Gurdwara will undertake and provide books including Nitnam, Gutcasas, Cte. to the students and efforts will also be made to hold such Gurmat Camps from time to Ume in the future.
