SILVER SPRINGS, MD: In a letter to the Indian Prime Minister, Guru Nanak Foundation of America, Inc., strongly condemned the incursion of the Golden Temple by the Indian Security Forces and the stoppage of religious services including reciting of the Holy Granth. “This type of repeated interferences in the legitimate rights of individuals to pray according to their belief is flagrant violation of religious freedom.
“A “SIKH” will not ever kill an innocent person. Those who have used firearms in and from the Golden Temple complex are “agent provocateur” planted to give bad name to the Sikhs and to provide an excuse to the Indian government to take such dastardly actions.
“We strongly urge you to stop the uncivilized acts of repeatedly desecrating the holiest of the Sikh shrines under the garb of punishing the so called “terrorists”.
The letter was signed by the Foundation Chairman, Mr. Karam Singh Dhillon.
