NEW YORK: The birth anniversary of the founder of Sikhism Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated with great fervor at the Mid-Hudson Sikh Cultural Society in upstate New York.
Over two hundred and fifty Sikhs went to a function in this Gurdwara on Dec 4 to commemorate the event which dispelled darkness that had engulfed the world in which Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born more than five centuries ago.
The Gurpurb diwan started with the bhog of the Akhand Path the continuous recitation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib after which there was Kirtan till two in the afternoon.
