NEW DELHI (PTI): Indian govemment on Sept.3 raised the cash prize for Dronacharya award from Rs 40,000 (1300 U.S. doilars) to Rs 75,000 (2500’U.S, dollars), the award, instituted in 1985, is given by the Federal Department of Youth Affairs and Sports to honor coaches in spots for their Outstanding and meritorious service,
Ten coaches have so far been given Dronacharya award, Last year it went to Ramakant A chrekar, who coached test cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Vinod Kambli and Pravin A mre, presently included in the Indian team.
