WASHINGTON: Like every year GNFA arranged food, clothing, and blankets for the area’s many homeless people, to commemorate Guru Nanak Dey Ji’s birthday. GNFA Chairman, Mr. Soni, Secretary Bakhshish Singh, Mr, Matta, and Mr. & Mrs, Chahal, Mrs. Narula and Mrs.Baasi, and many other GNFA members took food and blankets for about 200 people to the Community for Creative Nonviolence Homeless Shelter in D.C. on Dec.4, 1993.
The meal consisted of rice, kidney beans, potatoes and peas, pita bread, and soda, which was highly appreciated at the center by the homeless. In fact, after every homeless person ate a meal, there was enough food left for another complete meal for everyone. GNFA plans on continuing this tradition in years to come.
The Homeless blessed the charity act of the GNFA members and appreciated their efforts to help them.
