WASHINGTON, D.C: General Jaswant Singh Bhullar, Secretary General World ‘Sikh Organization, was ordered to leave United States of America as his application for change of status had been finally turned down. The Judge fixed July 28, 1986, for deportation trial. The Judge did not accept Defense Attorney’s plea for giving him six months to further study the case on the ground that the court had already given him more than enough time.
In a telephone interview, Gen. Bhullar told World Sikh News that he did not want to leave USA. Asked about his future plans, he said that he had informed the WS.O. Governing Council about the court decision and would act according to the mandate of the Governing Council. “It is up to the Governing Council to decide what I have to do in case of my deportation”, he said,
Asked if he plans to return to India, he said, “I have no plans to return to India”. When asked – Where would he go, he just said, “Depends” and made no effort to elaborate his laconic reply.
