NEW DELHI: The opposition in India is full of murderers dowry killers and criminals declared the Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi on May 12 as usual putting his foot straight in his mouth.

Gandhi was addressing the concluding sessions of the All India Congress Seva Dal (storm troopers) at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. The session was held to celebrate the birth century of the Seva Dal founder Dr. NSS. Harkliker.

Calling upon the 15,000 strong crowd on volunteers to spread the messengers of secularism socialism and the ideals of Congress, Gandhi declared that the opposition leaders bereft of any programme or ideology were harping on the theme of corruption when they are neck deep in it themselves. He added, (Unki ankhon par mitti puti hui hai sur unko kuchh dikhayee nahin deta). They are so blinded by corruption that they cannot see anything else, he added.

The Prime Minister declared that as far as the Congress Government was concerned it had removed governors, Chief Ministers and other high officials, against whom any charge of corruption was proved.

Karantaka But on the other hand the opposition leaders who keep talking corruption have not bothered to Temove or replace a single corrupt member, he added. Describing the National Front as a casteist front, Gandhi pooh pooled the idea of the Front coming to power and ruling the country.

Referring to Karnataka, where his Governor dismissed the elected government, the Prime Minister said that when the opposition could not run a single state how could they govern the entire country.
