Chandigarh: Several activists of the C.P(M) belonging to Bathinda district quit their association with the party and announced joining the Marxist Forum headed by Jagjit Singh Lyalpuri.

Already hundreds of workers of the party in other districts of Punjab left the C.P (M) to join the forum.

Those who resigned from the party in Bathinda district include Gurdev Singh Jattana Sarwan Singh Bir Gurcharan Singh Bhucho Kirpal Singh Bir Avtar Singh Hirokalan Bughar Singh Mohinder Singh Dhalewan Jamail Singh Bhainibagha and many others.

In a statement these functionaries criticized the Punjab policy of the C.P (M) and particularly as enunciated by Harkishan Singh Surjeet.

They noted that Surjeets utterances on Punjab were ridiculous and he spoke as if he were the ruler of the State. The party had further discredited itself by joining hands with Pepsus landlords (Raja Amarinder Singh) and power hungry politicians who had been isolated by the public.
