One idea in the U.S. Constitution that means a lot to me is the freedom of religion. It means a lot to me because with this right, I can believe what I want. I can also ‘wear my turban, which is part of my religion, without breaking any laws. This freedom is special to me. It is a symbol of our willingness to compromise, respect our nation’s peoples’ rights and to be equally fair to everyone.

The Constitution protects me from others who do not believe what I believe. If I were in some other country, I would not be allowed to wear my turban or keep my hair uncut, Even if I just ask to be able to practice my religion, in some countries, I could be put in jail. The Constitution is very helpful to me and many others.

The Constitution is important to me. It symbolizes my freedom, and the freedom of many others. Over 250 million people have depended on the Constitution and its 26 amendments, which are the backbone of this great country, every single day since its signing on Sept. 17, 1787.
