people in 47 unions under eight police stations in Sirajganjdistnict have been marooned, the paper Said adding that 200 feet area of Brahmaputra flood control embankment at Shahjadpur in Sirajganj has been washed away by the strong current of the flood water.
‘The river Jamuna in Sirajganj is flowing seven cm above the danger mark while standing crops in the district have been submerged by flood water.
Meanwhile, life was completely disrupted in the Dhaka city as heavy downpour for 72 hours inundated many roads. The met office recorded 144 mm rainfall ion Friday.
