Dear Editor

The details given by S. Gurbakhsh Singh about the offending and distend view of evolution of Sikh community by Dr. H Macleod shocking to say the least.

I wish to point out the following information by Dr. H. Macleod which it is difficult to imagine are not known to a teacher of Sikh history. Dr. Macleod may show any piece Of interest use prior to Japji Sahib by Guru Nanaks De V which gives Religious philosophy in such comprehensive details Nirgun Sampradaya and Sant tradition notwithstanding.

Emponez Jahangir has recorded in his biography that he ordered the killing of Guru Arjan Dev as according to him the Guru was continuing his preaching of Universal brotherhood stated by Guru Nanak and that some Muslims were also joining his followers. The Sikh history is comparatively new and all the accounts could be talked with landmarks in Lahore. Killing without spilling the blood of holy men seems to be the disclergy of the time No doubt the Muslim ruler considered the fifth Guru a holy man but killed him by torture since he did not ore to Islam.

As regards installation of Guru Granth Sahib as Guru is censored McLeod could not be ignorant of the Shabad by Guru Gobind Singh ji which is part of daily Sikh prayers beginning with Sikh an Ko Hukaner Hai Guru Manio Granth.

In view of the foregoing Dr. McLeod is expected to resign his past as a teacher of Sikhism and devout his time and fertile brain to invent something sustainable in his area of preaching as a Christian missionary.
