Luton, England: Europe’s biggest indoor sports stadium, with a capacity of 120,000 is being proposed for an abandoned quarry near here.

The all seater stadium is part of a 200millionpound retail and leisure park development lodged with South Bedfordshire District Council by a company called Brook mount.

The planned 355acre complex also includes an Olympic size ice rink and an 800,000 foot exhibition hall capable of hosting indoor tennis tournament.

First division football sides Luton town are to have talks with the developers about a possible move to the site, which Brook mount Managing Director Brian Craig reckons could be completed in about four years.
