NEW DELHI: Former champions Estegh lal football club, Iran, made their come back to DCM tournament a memorable ‘one by making to the final for the fourth time.

Champions in 1969, 70, and 71, under the name of Taj Club, Esteghlal defeated Mohammendan Club, DhaKa, 10 to set up the final match with reigning champions Posco Football Club, South Korea on Friday.

In a rough second semifinal at the Ambedkar Stadium today, Hasadeh Reza scored the all-important goal in the 20th minute when he out jumped defender Absannullah to superbly head in.

For Dhaka team, which came to field without two of their regular players, captain and defender Kaiser Ahmed and goal keeper Syed Hasan Kanan who had gone ‘back to take University exams, Nigerian Emeka Ezeugo played a superb game, con trolling the defense and midfield and even many times leading the counter attacks.

Mohammendan players effectively used man-to-man marking to stall their much more skilled Rival’s moves and never allowed them even to take long shots from within the striking area, reports PTI.
