TMPHAL: A Congress (I) Legislature party leader R.K Dorendra Singh was sworn on April 8 evening in the Northeastern Indian State of Manipur ending the 83 day old president’s rule in the state.

Former Chief Minister Rishang Keishing was also sworn in as deputy Chief Minister of the state.

The governor Chintamani Panirgrahi administered the oath of office to the chief minister and the deputy chief minister at a simple ceremony attended by the former chief minister R.K. Ranbir Singh and Manipur assembly speaker Borobabu Singh. Senior Civil and police officials also attended the function.

Making a sue moto statement in the lower house of parliament interior minister of state M.M. Jacob said the decision to revoke presidents rule was based on the recommendation of the Manipur governor.
