NEW DELHI: The differences inside the Congress on the party’s attitude towards the Laloo Yadav government came to the fore here on Friday with the Congress Party expressing its opposition to Central intervention in Bihar at this stage.

Congress Party spokesman V.N.Gadgil made this clear in response to a question by presspersons. Asked if the party was seeking the dismissal of the Laloo Yadav government Gadgil replied “At this stage no Central intervention is called for.”

The Bihar PCC leaders have been demanding that the state government be dismissed in view of the growing lawlessness in the state.

Gadgil expressed his unhappiness with the deteriorating law and order situation in Bihar highlighted by the recent murder of Hemant Shahi a Congress (I) MLA. The party spokesman called for “immediate vigorous corrective action” by the Bihar Chief Minister Laloo Yadav.
